17 years ago, my physical health was a mess.  I was a junior in college, and my weight had ballooned to 225 lbs.  For perspective, I am ~ 5 feet and 8 inches tall.  Not good.  I didn’t like the way I looked and I liked the way I felt even less.  So I set about losing weight and becoming healthier.  I made a lot of mistakes.  I banged my head into the wall many times.  It wasn’t until 7 years later (10 years ago), that I lost the needed weight and have since kept it off.

I wish I had known my next guest – Kayleigh Pleas – back then.  Because if I did, I know I wouldn’t have struggled as much or for as long as I did.  I’m not alone with my experience, however, as I’ve met and spoken to so many other people just like me.  They try hard but keep falling short because of the different obstacles in our way.  Do I go paleo? vegan? Do I start crossfit?  running daily? How do I manage my mind?  my emotions? daily cravings?  Why do I want to change my diet and lifestyle?
